35000 of those just complain and make posts requesting features ... which reminds me, I should post asking for a new feature to make it more like X Code but not difficult to learn so they should make Y code!
Generally, the main forum is a good indication of how popular some software is.
I don't believe that there are that many left after the last dust storm plus, there are also those who leave (and those who write about leaving but we count them anyway).
Doesn't Apple have a public statistic on how many games are developed with GS and isn't it about 3% ?
