Hi I havent been using GS for a while and was wondering if you are able to use grids yet? Also what is the snap in place feature and is that only for pro users? Finally I noticed theres a table icon now, what can I use that for. Thank you in advance and I appreciate answers not links to answers (not to sound ungrateful:)

There are no built-in grids (that I'm aware of, though I don't have the pro version). The only way to use grids at the moment is to import a grid from a graphics program and then align actors to it manually. Not great, but it does work.

Tables are spreadsheets that can be used to read (not yet write... that's coming later) data into attributes or expressions. They are quite powerful and there are some great demos that use tables (but you said no links...). Tables can be used for level setup (all actors' x and y positions), lookup data (60,000 word dictionaries) and all manner of other things.

What I find to be helpful which is by no means perfect is to create my own grids in Photoshop and lay it as a bkg while I work

Make a couple grids for yourself with varying quadrant sizes like splitting the iphone into 4ths, 8ths, etc. Again, not precise to the pixel but a workable "hack" if you will

A bit pricey maybe but powerful and a lot more than just a grid overlay tool http://ringce.com/slammer
much cheaper and just for grids http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/griddle/id421179113?mt=12
and DBA have a great tool (free with other purchases) http://www.deepblueapps.com/Deep_Blue_Ideas_Ltd./Screen_Grid.html
