What irks me more, is not only that this Android stuff is busted, but that no-one at GS even seems to be aware that it's busted.
I feel like I've spent the past two weeks doing free QA, rather than working on my games. Seriously.
I spent Friday look at the all the android crashes in the nightly build. The issue is some code I put in to detect the screen size on android. However, I am not able to reproduce the issue on my development computer. On Monday I will be looking into why it does not work on the publishing servers. Again this is a lead edge build and is NOT guaranteed to be stable. I am doing my best to address the android issues. Do realize however i am working on other issue on other platforms (like apples up coming iOS7) at the same time and may have to switch to addressing those issues for a few days. Thank you for patience.
@blackcloakGs man you have your hands full dude! I hope they get you guys more help soon. The 10.3 android builds are working decent just needs to be able to detect the screen size. Seems like you are a one man army. I feel for ya.
@FryingBaconStudios, my app had similar crash reports from customers on android, when i published it with nightly. Had reports of crash after starting and blank screens.
I narrowed it down to two things, one an issue with the nightly itself, which was reported, two I was using camera tricks on each screen, which seemed to be having issues with the nightly build only.
After publishing from 0.10.3, all issues were resolved.
Yeah I can publish with nightly but I move some images on the perimeter based on screen size so 10.3 doesn't help me at the Moment as it can't detect the screen size. I did get my major client an iOS build as we're still in development but the wanted an Android build for some of their staff who don't have Apple devices. Luckily they are very pleased with my work and we're good with it.
