Amazon Game Circle ad hoc login problem

I am having problems logging into Game Circle in ad hoc. When I try and sign in it comes up "Webpage not available".

I logged into a game I downloaded from the Amazon store to test it I have a nickname and it it works fine.

I then used the "Add a Nickname" link in Game Circle section of my Amazon developer account to add the nickname to Testing so I can login when testing my game.

I can't get it to work has anyone had this problem and fixed it or have any suggestions?

    Cant say I have but did you install the Amazon sdk kit and, did you add game circle achievements?

    @jigglybean yes I installed everything and have it all running on an android phone. I have Leaderboards and Achievements. I also set up IAP's and they don't work either. I downloaded a game by @BBEnk called Battle UFO's (*EDIT name corrected) and the same problem occurs when I try to logon to his game.

    It is strange that I can login to "Candy Runner Shoot Free" but not to "Battle UFO's" or my ad hoc game. I am wondering if it is a GameSalad thing or something I need to do to get it all working.

    If you and others download Battle UFO's and try and login to Game Circle and let me know if you can I would appreciate it. That would at least point to something on my end.

    @BBEnk sorry for getting the name wrong but yeah that is what is happening with my game and it has got me stumped. I have sent a support request to Amazon from my developer account. Do you have any idea what the issue could be?

    I also corrected the name of your game in my post above.

    @BBEnk I sent the following to Amazon and have now submitted a bug report and email the contact they recommended.

    Sent to Amazon;
    I built my game using GameSalad and I am having problems logging into Game Circle in ad hoc to test it. When I try and sign in it comes up "Webpage not available".

    I downloaded a free game from the Amazon app store to see if I could login to Game Circle and it worked fine.

    I then used the "Add a Nickname" link in Game Circle section of my Amazon developer account to add my nickname to Testing so I can login and test my game but it won't let me it goes to the page "Webpage not available". What do I need to do to to be able to test my game on Game Circle.

    They replied;
    For assistance with GameSalad please contact them directly, the best contact is: Stephen Nichols at snichols@gamesalad.com
    Note that GameCircle integrates with the Amazon App Client on the users device, any Android device with the Amazon App Client can utilize the GameCircle features. The URL you are referring to is not part of this functionality, the API or Amazon App Client. Thus, if you would like to peruse a solution you will really need to contact the GameSalad contact given in the previous response - they are best suited to help you resolve your issue.

    @BBEnk could you submit a bug report for this problem to GS. I put one in but thsy say they couldn't reproduce the problem with my information.

    @colander I have the same exact problem, if you get any kind results please let me know.
    I'm going to mess up a little bit and search for answers too, If I get something i'll let you know as well.

    @BBEnk Did you made tests before uploading your game? or you just uploaded the game into the Store then tested GameCircle?

    I downloaded Battle UFOs on my Sony Xperia (I don't own a Kindle Device right now) and I can't log into GameCircle, it shows me the leaderboards as a guest tho.

    @Loardal_Zero

    I tested on Kindle fire and Phone before uploading, and It logged into Kindle no problem and still doe's but phone I don't remember what it said at testing I was just making sure of the layout so did not really pay attention, but anyway Kindle fire logs in fine but phone will only log in as guest.

    Its been a little while now. Any answer to this? Same issue with my game.
  • colandercolander Member Posts: 1,610
    Still the same issue, GS and Amazon blame each other so I gave up on it.

    I have not read all comments and have not implemented Game Circle myself yet. You need to test Game Circle on a real device not the Kindle emulator. I read that the emulator can't connect to Game Circle. Not sure if you are using the emulator or not but I thought I'd let you know ... Cheers ;-)

    The only way to test IAP is to use the test client and a json file on the device? Amazon provides a sample Json file to modify and test with in their SDK. They have instructions on their developer site on how to test using the IAP client app you need to install on your device. They don't have a sandbox system like Apple. Testing for IAP must be done locally.

    Just getting this error after an Amazon publish. Is there any news on this problem for others? My game does the same thing, directs me to amazon Login page, then after login, this web page called amzn://com.companyname.appname...(bunch of random gibberish), which says "This Webpage is not available"

    Hope there is a resolution.

    @colander any resolution to this problem? Still receiving this blank web page on login.

    Amazon support suggests the following:

    "Please make sure to make the required changes to your AndroidManifest.xml file in your games build.
    https://developer.amazon.com/public/apis/engage/gamecircle/docs/initialize-android

    Specifically

    If you do not have this setup, with your package name, when you attempt to log in with GameCircle, it will not receive the callback correctly from our API and your game will not be able to work with GameCircle on non-Amazon Android devices."

    Would love a response here as well. Gamecirlce is working but its not possible to log in. Also getting the page not found error. It appears this is an issue with the manifest which is a Gamesalad fix.

    Looking forward to any response.

    Here is another thread that discusses the problem. Some additional elements need to be added to the manifest.

    @‌CodeWizard my experience with Amazon Support about this issue.

    Amazon Support Email Response:::

    ""Thank you for writing in.

    I have tested your app on Kindle Fire device and was unable to replicate the issue. I was able to login into the GameCicle successfully in the kindle device.

    We see that you are using old version of GameCircle in your app. Please ensure to integrate latest version of GameCircle version in your app.

  • stueynetstueynet TorontoMember Posts: 166

    I just uploaded a new build to amazon and it seems to be working now. I just republished in the Publisher and now its all good. Signed in no problemo.

    You are correct there. Always remember to update your Android SDK as well as Tizen SDK too. All those must be kept up to date.
