Screen Recording/Game Trailers for Mac

Hey guys--

Any recommendations on a screen recording software to create smooth game trailers (free and paid software)? I have tried the free Quicktime screen recorder, but it lags way too much and is incapable of producing anything that looks remotely professional. Hoping to find out some common ways any of you may have recorded your app's gameplay to produce some quality looking trailers.
