Does anyone know what the purpose of signing an android apk file is for?
I mean
it asks you to have passwords
and then those passwords are never asked again (or at least I have never ran into a situation where I have to type in that password again, other than the signing process itself).
And is there a situation where after a certain date, you want your app to stop working?
To me there's no difference between me signing my own android apk file or if I give the unsigned apk file and get Joe Blow to sign it for me.
So what is its use?

But other than that how to see that information..like if i enter bedroom and room and victoria bc CA...where is that information viewable?
I've never dug that deep into the android sdk. It's a signing protocol just like on ios.
There is always google. http://developer.android.com/tools/publishing/app-signing.html
Thanks.
Ah to prevent people from changing your apps for malicious purposes... makes sense now
