Ok I've searched the posts and it seems to be that there is a way to get the GS viewer on my iphone to test the games i create before having to sign up with apple as a developer. Is this true? If so then how to do I get the GS viewer on my iphone?

You need to be an Apple developer to be able to install apps on your development iPhone. You could potentially test the Xcode version of your game on the Simulator, but it won't be the same as testing on an actual device.

ok u go in ure developer folder then go on - Platforms- iphoneOS.platform- Developer-SDKs- choose the device version u have -then drag the SDKsettings.plist on your dessktop. open the one on your desktop. click the arrow next to DefaultProperties-
then change The CODE_SIGNING_REQUIRED from YES to NO (capital letters). now drag the file on the desktop back where you had the original file and it will ask u to replace it. then when u open an xcode file u just need to change from debugging to release (top left hand corner) and right click the project (toplefa hand corner, the first item under Groups and files) click - get info and find "code signing identity" and change the "any iphone os device" to "do not codesign" done!

Apologize for being slow here, but where is the "developer folder"?

    Hi Autofire...
Open the finder, go in "Macintosh HD" and you will see your "Developer" folder...

My "developer" only contains an "shared"folder. Who do I get the iPhone SDK without signing up av an Apple developer (but will as soon as I've got enough money)?

You can get the iPhone SDK for free by creating a account with Apple. You are only required to pay if you wish to actually publish the apps on the appstore and test them directly on a nonjailbroken iphone.

WHat I've been doing is publishing an ad-hoc version of the app to test on my iPod touch... is this the done standard? I have no idea where the GS viewer is or how to use it... the GS documentation is, how should I put it... NON-EXISTENT! Not great for a dev kit that's supposedly for "the rest of us".

didn't need to be ad-hoc..but doesn't matter, if it installed ok...I thought GS might protect against that. Can you preview your games on your iPod form GS creator?

Supposedly, Gendai Games is working on a GameSalad manual. I started work on a GameSalad textbook, but I wasn't sure if there would be enough interest to justify the amount of work required to create such a book... so I stopped work on that project.

I downloaded Xcode, and I still can't figure out how to view my game on my device?

Any word on that manual that Gendai games is working on?

I really like the program so far, but the lack of a manual really makes it tough to do anything more than a basic game. Going through the forum and looking for posts that may or may not of been answered is a little tedious not to mention a lot of the posts are old don't apply the newest version.

The learning curve would be much less if a comprehensive manual was available.

There is a pretty comprehensive Wiki under the Support section at the top of this page. It covers everything that GameSalad offers, plus there is a ton of tutorials there.

@fungo: you need to follow the instructions on this page EXACTLY:

    http://gamesalad.com/wiki/developing_for_iphone:building_gamesalad_viewer

It is quite complicated, but it works. If it isn't working for you, retrace your steps.

No doubt the Wiki and Tutorials is a good start, but they are far from comprehensive as far as using rules, attributes, formulas, etc. If I missed that one, can you post the link to it.

I'm trying to figure out how to make a platform move but also have an actor be able to jump onto and off the platform while it's moving. I could of swore I saw a post in the forum about that, but I can't find it now.

Also, yes following the steps for the viewer to the T is the trick. I did it my first time with no problem.

If you need help with attributes and rules, I would suggest watching some of the intro movies that tshirtbooth and weswog have made.

Trying to figure out moving platforms and jumping is difficult especially if you don't have the basics down.

(jumping is difficult even if you do have the basics down!)

    That's the truth..

I finally figured it out after I don't know how many hours of trying.

I'll go through and watch the videos I missed to give me a better understanding of how things work.
