Do Updates Improve Your App Store Ranking?

An app is released, a few days/weeks/months later there is an update.

Do downloads of that update help your app store ranking?

This has been driving me mental and I can't figure it out. /rubs head

I'm likely going back to bed now but if anyone responds I'll be eternally grateful in the morning ^-^;

    No worries, mate.

    It *used* to impact your ranking, but devs would update constantly (and I'm talking 'bug fix here, colour change here' to get more visibility.

    Apple changed it so that wouldn't happen anymore.
