That was my thought too, if 10.12 fixes the GS slowdown issue (as well as fixing other non-GS issues that 10.11.5 introduced) then GS coding efforts can be directed elsewhere.

The beginning of that sentence is true. Prepare is the key word here. Or rather, be prepared for the worse. Thats doesn't mean think of everything bad that can happen. That will just drive you crazy.
