Yes DBA applications like Project Merger and Scene Merger they are very nice to merge two project or scenes inside one project, but as you told, they don't remove the tables.

still jumps when saying a project, but the memory issue is much better when previewing a project. it still grows, but instead of a huge jump, it just increases in smaller increments whenever you play/

It's Android - but I don't think they are analysing iOS so may be an iOS problem too. They've analysed a number of my apps and they all have been flagged with the same issue.
