I need an actor to move a certain distance based on the strength of a swipe and also to follow the direction of the swipe command (similar to in golfing games where you swipe a ball to go somewhere).

the known issues list is pretty small. Just keep both copies of GS installed and backup your project. You should be fine

i was told not to use RC for production and they even list it at the bottom. How is RC doing in Yosemite? You know once i updated i can't go back.

The latest RC release is also much faster and reliable than the latest "stable" build.
