Did you follow the instructions precisely? It's important you look in your home folder's Library folder, not the system Library folder. It's hidden by default.

I don't know why this would make your text disappear, it may well be a bug, but it's not one I've heard others report ?

What did you change the colour to ?

What I did is: I made a new project, created an actor with a display text behavior. In that behavior you can change color and that's what I did.

You can use Vector to angle to detect the angle between the player and the platform, when within a certain range and colliding then the player is touching the sides - you could also do a similar trick

What exactly are you changing when trying a new blank project that makes it disappear ?
