I've never done this, but you could also make ad hoc versions and send to people who would agree to beta test on their devices. You have to get their iPhone/iPod/iPad serial number to do that, I think

What you're describing should work fine on an iPhone4, Ipad, and even 3GS, but older iPhones like the 3G and older iPod Touches will struggle...

When I got my iPad I looked at the case and I found it on bay for £10 for the same Apple one. I also have the keyboard stand and it's perfect for light office work via office 2 HD app.

I do NOT recommend getting the iPad dockable keyboard. You can only use it in one direction, and it doesn't work well with the Apple flip case.
