Many of us use a team bundle ID for our adhocs which uses an * wild card that will accept any bundle ID and allows us to only have one adhoc provisioning profile. Please be sure team bundle IDs can be used to publish. For team developers this is essential! Please don't dumb down GS because some people don't learn how to use it properly to publish, that kind of stuff hurts us pro developers. If people get rejected for not having the proper ID that is their fault. Our team IDs used to work fine.

I use a bundle id like "com.name.1game" in my apps but GameSalad requires "Bundle identifier - Individual package name levels may only start with uppercase or lowercase letters ('A' through 'Z')"

    Please fix because upper/lower ("A - Z") is not a Apple requirement.

To clarify users encountering the "black bar" issue - make sure you're using the proper resolution for the proper target device. Forcing any device to a resolution for which it's not intended can result in black bars. The Nook, for example - pushing a game not set to the Platform: Nook Color in the project info will likely result in black bars.

Why do you keep using that word? I do not think it means what you think it means.

Why was my comment removed? Do I not have the right to an opinion just because it might not be in line with your perspective and expectations for the upgrade? Again, we believe that this upgrade is premature and not thoroughly tested.

@ecscess - feedback is fine. However, this is a release thread and your comment added nothing to the conversation. Your opinion actually quoted the user before you and stated they were wrong and the update is actually bad, and that your team "doesn't have time to deal with this."

It has been noted many times that if you are in the middle of a project, it's best to wait until that project is finished to upgrade. While this is a special case, obviously, you still have thirty days to complete your project or adapt it to 0.10.0.

As you neither made it clear what your particular issue was, why it was happening, or why, indeed, this release didn't meet your expectations, what are we to gather from that by way of feedback? The only new feature implemented in this release was Web publishing, which means your project was likely completed and ready for publishing. Unless you were waiting for a specific fix, why not publish using the prior version?

So, in short, clarify your issue, please.

Why do you keep using that word? I do not think it means what you think it means.

    What are the steps?
First Sign App? Can't select that button and the Generate App button did nothing so far.

Really need to upload a new game to Apple but now I can't. And yes, I have read the CookBook about this topic but it don't work for me :(

    @MichaelK1985
The first step is clicking 'Generate App'. When that's complete, only then will you be allowed to hit Sign App.

    A couple things to note:
    1) The Bundle Identifier must be the same as the one you created in your Developer Portal on apple.com
    2) Ensure you have filled in the information required on the iPhone tab of the new publishing page. One may get the wrong impression that it's all the info on the default page that you have to fill out, but those things mainly pertain to Arcade publishing (the GS Arcade)

Bug fixes and enhancements are great. I'm not sure I like the new web publishing though; it seems buggy. At first it was telling me that I hadn't filled in fields that I had filled in... I had to exit and log back in, and now it seems to be compiling my Mac game. Hopefully it works.

So, in short, clarify your issue, please.

First of all, I believe I wasn't off topic, since my feedback regarded precisely the new release. And second of all, when using a product, you should be able to use all its functionality and updates regardless of the state your computer or projects are in. In other words, it sounds somewhat unfair so tell someone not to upgrade, whichever the reason. It doesn't matter what stage is the project in, because we use ad-hoc publishing to test the app (GameSalad viewer is not sufficient for testing).

Regarding my issues, in short, I would mention the absence of a progress bar when generating the app, a function I could use in the previous version, also the lack of an option regarding whether I want to publish my app in GameSalad Arcade or not, the mandatory "com." in my bundle field (not all of us are using this prefix). But my biggest issue of all is the fact that the generating app function is still not working, after more than 12 hours since the release, which means a 12 hour delay in progressing and launching my app.

Maybe it is not my place to raise such issues, but I need the previous version to complete my project in a fashionable matter. Can you please tell me how can I downgrade to the previous version?

    @icedb, @danielhalat

they mentioned eariler that since Apple was dropping support for snow leopard, they were as well (http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/47561/important-update-snow-leopard-support/p1)

They also mentioned above that they are phasing out the old versions ability to publish 30 days from now.

So, time to upgrade your OS to Lion/Mountain Lion.

@ecscess - when using a product in beta it's always recommended to A) Backup your project before upgrading or B) Wait to upgrade until the project is finished. As architecture or logic can change drastically from version to version, sometimes resulting in disruptions in workflow. For example, a bug was corrected in logic from version 0.0.2 that resulted in users needing to create a workaround in version 0.0.1. Once the bug is fixed, the workaround then causes the other logic to work improperly.

Thank you for clarifying your issue - our web team is currently investigating issues like this. Those unassociated with user error will likely be clarified in the upcoming Pro webinar.

Ugh - my game appears to be done compiling for Mac, but now it says:

"In order to download the executable file for your game, you will need to complete the form shown here. After your game has been pubished to an App Store, be sure to fill in the App Store URL to promote your game on Arcade."

However, everything is filled out (you can't click Generate until the form is complete!) The "Download" button is greyed out....

Does anyone know what I need to do to get my Mac App binary?

Hi, small question regarding updgrading. I use AppTrap which deletes unwanted plists and stuff when you uninstall (delete) an app. As usual, this also happens when upgrading an app, and I normally tell it to leave those files alone as I am updating rather than deleting...
...but what's Gamesalads advice on this? Should we actually delete those files to be sure of a clean update, or do they hold a decent amount of personal prefs that would be annoying for us to have to set up again? Do plists and the like change much between app versions, or are they a general thing that pretty much stays the same forever?
    Thanks
    Wayne

I think it's still generating your app, those messages don't go away unless you hit the little x, and that top message is there the first time you open an app page, I don't think it means anything for the stage you are in.

    Ah you might be right.
How long does it take? It's been going for over an hour....

It was slow under the old system, but if it's going to take hours to publish, that's going to be a real pain when I'm trying to test...

@JustMe74 it depends on the file size, but with 5mb has been taking me about 3 mins on average.

I've trying an addhoc build for an iPad app that is 12.7 meg for the last few hours... I cleared all the previous attempts and left one waiting for over an hour now. This morning the same process took minutes with the same app and same settings. It must be something with the servers...

@aum same here actually. Last night was 3 mins for me. Have just been trying an adhoc, same 5mb, has taken over 10 mins now. Got to say, it'd be useful to have some sort of loading indicator so we know it's actually doing something at least, and not messed up.

@jonmulcahy I'm a music producer with 10's of Works in progress... updating to a new version and risking plug-in compatability issues is not an option :( The joy of 15 inch screens is going to be so delightful :S

Bear in mind that the servers are taking a pounding not only from thousands of people downloading the new Creator and viewers simultaneously, but also publishing. High traffic is expected.

Why do you keep using that word? I do not think it means what you think it means.

Yeah..seems the servers are being hit ultra hard. Will wait a few hours then try again.

I was planing on submitting an app to Apple today dose not look like its going to happen.

We understand that the servers are getting a pounding but waiting for an addhoc build for 2 hours is a bit extreme :)

I hope tomorrow it comes back to normal when most of the people are finished downloading the updates...

By the way I am unable to load the new viewer onto my devices via Xcode 4.4 getting an error:

    "GameSalad_Viewer_Prefix.pch
    Lexical or Preprocessor Issue
    'Foundation/Foundation.h'file not found"

I wonder what it could be as nothing has changed since I successfully loaded the previous version of the viewer onto my iPhones and iPad.
