Anyone remember that old Atari game Q-Bert? I used to love playing it as a kid. It made me wonder how one might create effective controls for a game like that for iPhone. I've got my hands full with game dev at the moment, but I think an effective Isometric control system demo would be brilliant. Any takers?

Do you think that would be user friendly? It's a lot of real estate to cover. I just discovered Q*Bert exists on the app store. They have a joystick in the lower left corner of the screen. I bet it would be frustrating to use though. There has to be a better way.

I remember that game! :) As a kid I thought it was frustrating, but what a fun game! :)

I think a joystick would really be the best way, or you could offer Joystick and buttons on each corner like QS said :)

Ahhh Q-Bert! I spent 6 hours on 1 quarter with that game. Man were my eyes bugging out after that. I lived in fear of the store manager unplugging the machine cause of too many kids by e machine.
