Suggestion for people looking for GameSalad help...

First off, this tip (read: mini-rant) is not directed at anyone in particular. In fact, I haven't noticed anyone exhibiting these behaviors today...

I, and a few others I'm sure, regularly look through the unanswered posts listing. Why is that relevant? Well, for people looking for assistance that continuously *BUMP* their posts, you don't show up on that list...

Another helpful hint...

If your post goes a few hours without getting answered, you probably were way too vague, or you just confused the hell out of us.

Simple one-line questions ("How do I solve...world hunger?") ...Yeah, too vague!

Try including a simple description of your problem, as well as what you have tried that did not work. Usually, hearing what you've already done gives us a better idea of what you are actually trying to accomplish. You may be asking yourself, "What if I haven't tried anything?". Well, that's your first MAJOR problem. Most processes/functions people have issues with make perfect sense once they have been tried a few times!

This is all said without even taking into consideration the immense documentation as well as the official and unofficial game demos floating around...Starting there usually takes care of the ramp-up required to use GameSalad proficiently.

We ALL want to help you, but there are obviously things that you can do to "help us help you".

Thanks! ;-)

How do you solve world hunger? I've always been wanting to know the answer to that one...

Definitely agree though. Most of the time you can find answers by using either:

    1) The search feature on the forum (and you can get scores more results by using the Google search).

    2) The Shared Projects | Templates section inside GS itself is a great resource.

    3) Oh, and if you see someone on the boards that looks like they know what they are doing, click on their name in one of the topics and check out their Wall. FireMapleGames and tshirtbooth have lots of great stuff that got me going. Oh, and you better check out JamesZepplin wall; apparently he has a Mario-styled platform demo that he keeps having to post about every couple of days. ;)

Then you have those questions that nobody has delved into yet so it may take some time and by then your thread gets lost 3 pages down and you're forced to bump it. :)
