Hey all,
I made a post in the "upcoming games" section over at toucharcade for The Secret of Grisly Manor:
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=1277216#post1277216
There's some more screenshots to check out, and I will update that thread with more info, screenshots, and videos as the release date draws closer.
If you get a chance, please check it out.
Thanks!
Joe

Darren.
PS: how many scenes and actors have your game?
It should be available sometime in the middle of September.
I will most likely set the price at $3.99
There are about 520 images, 2 music tracks and about 60 sound effects.
The game weighs in at 13MB.
A lot of rule or different instance actors?
14 scenes because you use some scenes two or more times?
EDIT1: How did you manage to do the menu?
EDIT2: I don't care about 20mb 3G limit.
Do you think that a lot of actors will be worse than less actor but used two or more time as instance actors?
EDIT3: When GS release memory? Change scene will increase the memory usage?
Yes, each Scene is used 3 or 4 times.
Change Scene releases the RAM.
What about the menu?
If I'm able to use GS is only thanks to you.
For the menu:
I set a menu scene but I don't know how to reach the previous scene.
Another thing.
Using instance actor the game will use less memory than using prototype?
It looks like a massive project as you did all the art.
Amazing looking game and you have a customer on day 1 cause my G/F loves these type of games.

@Darren: I've been working on this game on and off since May. But I got married in June, honeymoon, vacations, plus my regular job all go in the way!
I'd say probably about 8 weeks all told?
A big chunk of that time was building the engine itself. The inventory system, the camera controls, popup text, transitions, etc...
What is nice is that all that stuff is reusable for a sequel or another adventure game.
@arton: I take great pride in compressing my images as small as possible.
It would be nice if this is moderately successful, as I like to make adventure games. If I could make a living by making two or three of these a year, I would be very happy!
Wow, those graphics are really impressive. I will be buying it for sure. Reminds me of Maniac Mansion !
Any idea on game length Joe? She completes most bigger pc title in a few hours...clever bugger.
Darren.
If you are good at adventure games then I'd say it would probably take about an hour.
STOP THIS MADNESS NOW!!!

Yes, sorry about that! I just fixed that and will be releasing a new version tonight!
I apologize for the inconvenience!
I will keep banging away at the game to see if I can break it. If anybody encounters any problems, please let me know!
Joe
