I actually got started making games using GameMaker and learning GML. It helped a ton in learning the earlier Computer Science courses I've taken. But It was around version 5 then, I think.

But from what I remember, it only can create .exe's or play in a web browser with a plug in on pc's; very similar to how Game Salad does it.

Yeah it's very similar to GS except it doesn't export to anything special. It's a great program just can't really do anything with your game once your done. If it exported to flash then I would get back into it.

If you want an drag and drop game editor that can export to flash, you should check out Multimedia Fusion 2. ( flash exporter sold as an addon). There has been some talk of an iphone exporter, but not sure if thats going to happen.

Yes we made the pc version of Bumps with it.

A lot like GS but a lot more advanced with a ton more features.

Very cool! How did you handle the distribution of the pc bumps?

A while back there was a post about GameMaker and I implored Gendai to take a page out of their book and set up the interface more like GM's. Man I miss that program :p

GM was my first platform to develop games on too. GM is actually very similar to GS and I still like messing with it from time to time.

They actually came out with a mac version just recently, although at the time the full version wasn't for sale... Just a 10 hour demo.
