RAM increasing...strange

I've noticed something thats very strange and don't really understand

So when I run my game on my device through the GS viewer, the RAM in a scene increases when I go back to it. So for example, my RAM starts off at 17MB in the home menu, then when I play the game, and then go back to my home menu, the RAM in that same scene that was 17MB is now 22MB. Then i do the same again, and then its 24MB,etc. It keeps on increasing when I go back.

How does this make sense? How can the RAM be increasing when its the same scene as it was before? Im afraid that it might increase to be so high that the game will crash...

Anything regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated

    That is what is known as a memory leak.
    The memory keeps creeping up until the app crashes.

    I am sure that you are well aware of the one in GameSalad Creator itself, where the memory use keeps increasing until it becomes so unusable that you you have to quit and relaunch it.

    I have to do this every minute!

    There are some known memory leaks with 0.89, particularly with sounds, that have been fixed in the new internal build, or so I have been told.

    Let's hope this is the case.

    I have the same issue, that is memory fragment like HD, if you have spawn lot of different actor & destroy it, then the memory will hard to recycle.

    Any info on when this memory leak going to be fixed. I built a sound application for a client in GameSalad thinking it would be a quicker turn around but now I have ended up screwing myself. This is retarded, I should have stuck with unity.

    Its supposed to be fixed in the new build. Who knows when that will be though.

    Yup, still waiting on them as well.. I cannot submit my next app until this gets fixed

    It is really disappointing since this is a speech therapy game... I am trying to convert to caf but my ogg files are 12kb and caf is 100kb... I got over 400 words. Not sure this is going to work.

    Not to mention, switching out 400 words is going to be hellatious since they don't overwrite since one is ogg and the other is caf...

    Do you guys really think I will see a difference in the memory leak issue using Caf? Also where do you find this MAX program everyone is talking about.

    I've been wondering myself for about 6 months now. :) I've got about 3 games on the shelf waiting for the fix.

    hmm.. thanks for the link. I was googling and couldn't get it now I get it no matter what I type with max in google. Oh well, thanks.

    Actually some of these bugs are probably not the fault of GS, some of these bugs are XDK related, If you are an apple developer you have access to the forums there and you can see all the many many many memory leak threads there.
