Thanks! I'm glad that you like my book.

I was just watching the Apple Keynote thing, but I stopped it at the Apple TV part. It could have been something cool if it played iOS apps, but it pretty much seems to be a brick for renting content. I already have a bunch of devices that can play Netflix and do other stuff.

I was surprised by Apple being the largest portable game system in the US/World. That was encouraging. You think Apple would want to further their growth by leveraging Apple TV. Nope, it doesn't look that way.

I was concerned when Steve Jobs said something like, "That's it for iOS." ...which basically suggested Apple TV was not iOS. I think that's a big mistake. Even at $99, it's a waste.

So hey... Gendai Games should be saying something soon about Game Center. If not, I might be moving on to new projects. My Apple Developer registration expires in about 9 days. I'm wondering if I should renew. I was watching the show to get inspired, but that didn't happen.

Very interesting event. I'm really glad to hear about the new iPod Touch, and interesting to note it's now the biggest selling game system of all.

The thing that really impressed me is the integration of social networking into iTunes. I'm assuming this will work with apps too, but Steve didn't exactly say that.

    Exciting stuff.

I hope GS is on the GameCenter thing... as I know they are.

I'm thinking it's just for music, at least for now.

Retina resolution is now standard. I think that GS should change the standard iPhone/iPod resolution for the scenes.
PS: to create a iPhone4 res game i only need to change the scene resolution?

It's a requirement that GS support GameCenter very very soon. Unified online experience (ala Xbox Live) is crucial and gamers will want it. OpenFeint and all of that was a non-unified hacky mess with no standard. GameCenter will be key to iPhone gaming experience and gamers will vote with their .99. Come on GS...make GameCenter a top priority.

I would think a best practice for the retina display design would be to set up your artwork in Photoshop (or whatever you use) at 960x640 and 144 pixel per inch, and view at 50% on your monitor to design the graphics.
