Scrolling lock on to player

Hi guys,
I am having a hard time getting the logic to work right for actors to lock on to the player target via rotation + move. I can get it to move to the player while scrolling but not with rotation.
With the help of firemaplegames I was able to get touch based shooting functional while scrolling but for some reason I can't get the logic to work backwards directed at the playerX(game attribute constrained to player.x)
In short I wan't to be able to rotate an actor to the player while the screen is scrolling.
Any pointers?
Also - I tested this scrolling shooter on my iphone, it lags when I shoot? Considering the graphic files are like 2kbs I don't understand the lag. Is it GS or something else? The shooting is rapid fire but 2kb graphics.
