How do you avoid the top of screen getting cut off when taking a screenshot for the IPAD

    Page 26
    The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook

I could post the answer here, but I feel I'd be ripping off the people who paid for the book :)

If you have an iPad, did you try pressing the sleep button with the home button?

@fmack... exactly what is the problem?

@fmack - There is a little blue bar shaped icon top left of the preview window, click that.

@photics - Perhaps promoting your book instead of offering very simple tips should be restricted to photics.com this kind of thing is kinda counter-community and to be honest would put me off buying your book. Not sure it's ethical ;-)

@fmack but get your screenshots from the device if you are using any display text behaviors as they seem to be rendered with a better antialiasing algorithm.

Have you read page 26? It's a rather extensive explanation of how to improve this issue. It's one of my favorite parts about the book.

As for the ethics, I see no issues here. I try to be at least a little helpful each time. Pressing the sleep/home buttons will take a screenshot - is that not correct? Plus, when posting about my book in threads like this, other people tend show up and get very angry, jealous or whatnot... which encourages them to post their own solutions and be helpful.

Also, pressing the screenshot icon (in preview mode) is not sufficient if GameSalad is not displaying the full scene. It's an issue with smaller displays, while trying to preview an iPad Portrait game.

Perhaps Stus is suggesting that instead of posting "Buy my book to find out" as an answer, you could say, "Here's how you do it -- to learn more about this and other GS stuff, you can get my book here...".

Personally, I think your ambulance chasing has no place on the support forums. There is no jealousy or anger on my part, just felt you are being a bit of a dick with a very simple question.

Sadly I haven't read page 26. I'm sure it adds something incredible to the concept of screen shots that could really help boost my sales. I am holding off on buying the book until Spoko the dog is released.
