Not sure if this is the right forum...Is it possible to check who was, say, your 1000th download.

My idea is that my game will have an incentive to either buy it due to it having a cash prize for the Nth person to download it or, a prize for the first purchaser to correctly answer the secret hidden question in the game?

I'd it possible to track this?.

Thanks

App purchases are anonymous. No way to detect a unique buyer...or contact them.
To do an app like you describe...would require a private database that people subscribe to voluntarily and interact with via a web connection...which is impossible with GS. It would require you to "gather" their private info through the app.

You would need to build that app with native XCode...and there are a few out there like it already if you care to search for them on the app store.

Thanks... I suppose I could just have an email address in the game that people can email their answer to?.

Not the most professional way but it would work......

    I recommend that you don't...
The app you are describing sounds like it could be interpreted as borderline gambling or lottery...which is illegal in most cases. Unless you have a strong understanding of US and International gaming (gambling) laws...I suggest you consider another idea.

Plus...I'm not sure if people will go for an app that they have to remember an email address to type in to try and win something (unless you drop the $2K to add href linking to GS Pro). I suspect most of the users will be pissed they spent any money on it and will think its an email address collector for future spam use/abuse. Plus I doubt Apple will approve such as app on a "lack of substance" or "invasion of privacy" or "illegal lottery" basis.

Perhaps a small puzzle game would be better for your first effort.
