Web Creator

Hi,
I really need to create a website, not only for advertising my Apps, but also for giving customer more information of what I do. I see many GameSalader using weebly.com because it's free and easy to use (Drag and Drop), but is there any other AD-FREE web creators out there that you guys are using? (I'm willing to pay for and upgrade as long as it's reasonable.)

What is the price for weebly pro membership?
Which sites do you recommend?

    The bottom of http://photics.com has links that explain what my site uses for web hosting and content management. Basically, it's like $8 a month.

    I get a lot of talk about people wanting me to make websites for them, but they never follow-up. Oh well, their loss. I've only been doing this stuff for 16 years.

    @ORBZ iWeb needs MobileMe Subscription to publish and cannot be found through google search.

    @Photics What's the best/easiest language to start with?

    @Andreib21 How much?

    What's your budget?
  • ShpintShpint Member Posts: 404
    I'm not sure about the budget yet (May be no more than $50, I'll see)

    I would like to create them myself, so I can edit it when ever I want.
    Is it hard to learn Web Designing? What Language?

    Tumblr.com.

    It's a blogging site but you can add specific pages and completely customise. There are also some really cool, sleek looking templates. I really like it.

    Wordpress looks kinda nice. Will try them out, seems like you need to write some codes right? Any other suggestions?

    Oh and is it possible to add email to sites created with these Web Creator? You know, like contact@websitename.com

    Wordpress.com is a good start, there are a few themes to choose from. The themes usually have a contact page, you just put in your email.
    You can customize your settings without needing to know any code. If you need any help with html or css code, give me a shout.

    I thought word press was software for your website. You still would need a web host that supported all of its needs.

    use www.weebly.com
    check the price difference between go daddy domain and their domain but they are a good free web service that allows you to use a domain registered elsewhere once you have that setup goto google apps and setup your webmail so you can have your @yoursitename.com addresses. that is free too and google apps give you specific instructions on how to setup a godaddy account so that it works right.

    Oh and weebly has several preset template and hem you can easily customize the template as well as the content www.webs.com is pretty good too but i know you have to register or transfer a domain to them and their registering cost more than godaddy not sure if they are complaale with the google apps stuff either cause you have to be able to change DNS settings. It's all pretty easy though.

    Just to make sure.
    I can also register my domain with weebly.com be upgrading account type, then I can go to google apps and setup my webmail. Do I need GoDaddy? or rather Should I use GoDaddy?

    weebly will allow you to register your domain through them or use anyone else. i don't know how they work with google apps. I know it will work but the may charge you to set that up When i did a google ad through them it took a percentage of my ad revenue but if i did google ad on my own and put the HTML code in instead of letting them deal with it I got it all. Weebly is one of the best free web services i have found and that is what my site is setup with now. Its all drag and drop stuff and but you can still use HTML some too if you like.

    In my opinion it would be better to register with godaddy and then you wont have to transfer if you go to a paid host or anything like that.
  • ShpintShpint Member Posts: 404
    Thank you, I will ask you soon about how to add google ad :D
    BTW you registered with GoDaddy right? How much did it cost?

    I'm gonna go sleep now. 1AM!!!!!
    School starts at 10 tomorrow YAY!!!

    @Shpint

    iWeb doesn't need MobileMe to publish. You can publish to any FTP server. It works really well. It most certainly does show up in Google Search.
  • jstrahanjstrahan Member Posts: 498
    Thought so

    Yes I have register several domains through GoDaddy. Cost varies by promotion but I have paid $9-$12 for .com's They give other options that are cheap er if you dont care if its a .com or not. But you can also catch some good promos they just ended one that had $1 for first year.

    Good Luck
