Do test iAds show up in the iPhone viewer app?

I made a game in gamesalad with an iAd and when I preview it on gamesalad it shows gamesalad's custom iAd. But when I preview it in the viewer app for the iPhone no iAd shows up, not even the test ad. Does it only show when its in the app store???

The game salad logo will show up which means its working.
I have done a few builds and they all worked if the game salad logo ad was there.

To see if it is really showing the "apple" test add you need to drop the app onto your device through itunes or xcode with e development certificate.

You may already know how but just in case...
You just select and dev certificate you have when you build through game salad.

Then the app game salad shoots back at you just drag it onto itunes then onto your device via a sync.

I tried doing a build but still nothing. I know my certificates are good because I've done xcode apps with iAds and they worked.

Do you have a pro license? If not, iAds will not work on a published app, adhoc or otherwise.

Yes, does it only show up when downloaded from the app store?

Thats only if you submitted it to the app store. What my problem is, is that I have absolutely nothing when I build it to my iPhone.

I'm certain that you won't have actual iAds unless publish to the app store (that's the point at which you tell apple to start serving ads for you app), and I imagine you wouldn't want the GameSalad test ad showing in an adhoc published app, so "absolutely nothing" sounds about right...

both adhoc and viewer should show the Apple iads test ad which when touched shows the test page

@Rob2, The viewer shows a GS-flavored test ad, and Apple doesn't want their test ad showing if iAds aren't being served, so I imagine that Gendai would be hiding the banner in adhoc builds.

Actually, I seem to remember *something* being visible when you make an adhoc build. It's a white ad, with 'test' written on it or something.

When you click it, it loads up a blank 'test' advert I think.

    QS :D

Edit: Oh! And in case you didn't know (I didn't!) you have to set each individual app to 'accepting iads' - it's done in iTunes somewhere!

Do you mean when you preview it on the desktop in gamesalad you see test advertisement right.... But when my friend previews It on his iPhone nothing shows up not Even test advertisement there's nothin that says test advertisement when he's previewing it on the iPhone. Are you suppose to see test advertisement when previewing it on the iPhone in gamesalad.

Does your friend have a Pro account?

Everybody knows that you are able to right-click on GameSalad and move the iAds behavior from the Pro folder into the Express folder. That will let you add them to your app.

I'm not suggesting that your friend did this of course.

However, when you go to publish, Gendai will strip out any Pro feature that you have not paid for.

But if they are a Pro user, just have them email Gendai directly, since that is one of the advantages of having Pro. They will be able to clear it up quickly.
