Align Text?

I realize the justification align buttons still doesn't work. I tried Option + Enter to create a new line. It doesn't seem to be working, unless I'm doing it wrong? I'm doing this right in the Text Expression field.

Any trick to getting text to align?

OMG! I am having the same exact issue. I did not even see this post otherwise I would have also mentioned it here. I have text inside an image and some of the text shows fine by fine I mean if the text at that moment is only 10 characters long it's displayed perfect, but if it's more then 15 characters long for some reason it will not stay aligned. It will actually go outside the image. Can someone please help us?

Honestly, I would not use Display Text in your finished game.

It is blurry, has weird black halos, and is always center-aligned.

If you want complete control over the way the text looks, feels, aligns and breaks - you will need to create it in an image program like Photoshop.

Hopefully they will update the text rendering someday, as it is currently pretty unusable.

I pay for my artwork so I would have to pay to have the text drawn instead of using the display text box? Is there any other method that does not involve using Photoshop?

Well, there's lots of free image editors, like www.sumopaint.com
You could just use that for free. Just type up the text and export a .png.

Yeah but I have more then 50 texts being displayed each time the player taps the image. Wouldn't that take up a lot of memory?

It does take up RAM, unfortunately.

You can use Display Text, of course. It's just a bit of a turn-off for me.

And realize that it will always be centered - as GS currently stands.
So you will need to design your layout to accommodate that.

The text seems to work differently in app vs. in the previewer...which I have reported as a bug.

It appears to align to the actual edges of the actor...so a left align justifies center at the left edge of the actor...and right align justifies center at the right edge of the actor. Center align obviously centers.

Hopefully Gendai fixes this in future releases so that it works the same at least in the builder as in the app.

I only recommend using the text for small pieces of text...such as data readouts. If your text is going to be high profile...build it into your UI skin with images as FMG suggests.

Here is a text tip for making a little bit more interesting text with the display text behaviors:
