I kinda feel really doltish by even asking this knowing that a response is not really coming but I am making a new game, the free rev is going to the store in a few days,, but the real master of disaster of the game is going in a couple of weeks, seems every time I get ready to release I get in that rev upgrade thing, it would be nice to know if the next rev is coming soon, like under2 weeks or more or if there is one or if south america has move to new zeland or, you get the point. A heads up would be good, the last update notice or quasi notice was Pause...and them some other stuff. Can you folks let us in on a potential area of release within a 30 day windows.

It would be nice to know a potential approximate of when they're aiming for. I know a lot of people are shelving games as they believe the update to be just round the corner

I would guess the reason nothing is said is as follows:

Hey guys, gendai here, Were thinking about maybe possibly adding custom fonts sometime.

    2 days later.....

...Hey, what the heck we were promised 277 brand new custom fonts on the next update
Where are they? I quit, i can't make any money now.

    :P

Was your game called "font store manager?"

They just received a bunch of funding from outside investors.

Investors will sometimes impose a "speaking ban" while they check everything out and make sure the house is in order. Make sure nothing is promised that cannot be delivered.

Hopefully the update will be out soon, the ban will be lifted, and we will get a clearer roadmap of where they are headed with the software.

I don't think that's it. I've never noticed Gendai Games to be that chatty. I remember back in the iPad days... "get your apps ready for 1024x768" ...was basically the information we had to work with.

Heh, that was pretty good information though.

I'm not sure why Gendai Games doesn't give the community a better "heads-up" about these things. Even that short message allowed me to prepare for the iPad launch. GameSalad was looking great back then as an entire community was organized. Heh... dominating the charts... those were good times for the GameSalad community.

Well not having fonts has not contributed to my games not selling well, I think it is a simple as the games I made were just not that good. So, I just want to know a timeline so that I can move forward with game dev and not bump into a situation where I have to make any wholesale changes based on new issues.

However I dont care if they got lots of venture money, they need a communication guru on their end who makes some real attempt to keep developers in the loop. I got an email from them about 3 weeks ago suggesting some further support, based on the fact that one of our games is going to be part of an upcoming show, called PawnStars. I responded and then nothing happened.

Communication creates a sense of joy, even if its bad news, at least you are not wondering, this is not christmas morning where a surprise is the point, I just want to know how I plan my business activity. That is not too much to ask.

The money they got would be fraught with people saying how happy is your user base, I assume none of the money folks read this list, or they would get a sense of unrest or confusion on the part of the developers.

I have deal with many venture folks, and I have a detailed knowledge of how it works, these folks want a return on investment and keeping in touch with developers, the base customer, is primary.

Not getting return emails, after they instituted the contact is very professional. I am happily a GS developer and I am getting better, but I need to make plans, and as I see it, Gendai is my partner in this effort, they could learn something from other companies, I used to use run rev and they were all over developers services.

Done with this, not bitching just want things to be a bit clearer.

I would like to see things such as triangles as selectable collision shapes.

What I would love would be being able to set collision points on images or for gamesalad to ignore alpha on images and only set it as collidable on the non transparent parts of the image.

    A man can dream.... :P

I am thinking that the tshirtbooth person knows more than he is saying, or he is like the rest of us just trying to tell the future, which I know I suck at, already stated as much in a different thread, but anticipation is not a good thing, when you dont know when the deal is going to happen. I dont care when it happens, but it is fair to ask, what it will be and an estimated time of delivery, communication between members here is good, but from GS downward not so good. I am NOT bitching or trying to rub anyone the wrong way, I never bitch about what GS cant do, most of the time I find a way to make it work, but we are all biz partners with GS and letting us know more than some little kernel of info is just not a good thing. Ok I am done with this and will wait with others in hopes that great things are coming...

LOL i know no more then any of you that is why im hard at work on my games. Not holding my breath for a new build. I work like the last build is the last build.

That's a good attitude. Unfortunately, the iAds / Pro thing broke my momentum. I'm busy encoding a video for a review of Wii on Netflix... that's some distance from game development. :)

I have artwork. I have music. I have ideas. Yet, I look at iAds and Game Center. I see features I can't use and it just ruins my concentration. Plus, it's tough when you hit a peak... will I publish a mobile project that's better than Commove or my Textbook? Yeah, probably, but I'm not feeling that motivation right now.

I'm updating my website with some content right now, since it's been fairly neglected since I started working with GameSalad.

We just need Creative Solutions' amazing new "Game Engine" that was promised to arrive about now. That way...we just press a button and we all have top 100 games (or at least the first 100 do that press the "make game" button).

I wonder if his 40 developers have finished the entire platform yet. I mean...its been like 6 weeks already. I would think at least a Beta version would be possible by now.
