Camera follows hero UNLESS User Slides the screen forward.

Can you have a camera follow the hero but then also allow the user to tap and drag the camera ahead and "abandon" the hero in view. The idea is to let them "peek ahead" with the camera to analyze an upcoming area and then when they tap the screen or slide back (or maybe just move the character again) it re-centers the view on the hero again and follows him.

I think Angry Birds does something similar to this.

    Do a search for the tap and drag demo out there, that seems to work pretty well

    @Millerbrother1: Check out Tshirtbooths Menu Video tutorial on the GameSalad Cookbook, it's almost exactly what you want (minus the tap to slide back). I got it working in less than 20 minutes.

    I have a similar problem but I want playerss to be able to peek ahead but not allowing the camera to leave the Hero behind, and if the Hero hits the edge of the screen I want him to control the camera until the player swipes...suggestions anyone?

    @tshirtbooth: I've had that working for a while now...can't figure out how to take it up to the level I want (Swipe Cam actor but can't leave HERO out of the screen AND Hero controls cam if he hits the edge of screen.

    Still can't figure out how to have a cam actor only be able to swipe as far as the Hero permits him, but if the hero hits the edge of the screen he controls the camera...help!
