how to get good game performance out of GS

Sorry i dont know that answer but if you do please share :-)

what makes for good game performance optimization? Have you encountered any thing that helps or makes things worse?

like will spawning 4 actors kill the performance or does that happen after 100?

should we be using limited colors profiles when designing graphics? or is compressing them to png enough?

i remember the old internet days when a 150 kb jpg would be a no no on a website... thats why Flash was so awesome as it did vector graphics that used waaayy less then any series of bitmaps/jpg etc..

any tips would be awesomely appreciated!

    I take a lot of care to try and optimise things so they run smoothly, and it's a bit of a chore.

    There's always more you could do to optimise a game.

    I'm playing around with a shooter for the iPad at the moment. I have no idea if it'll work, but it's lovely to make something without having to worry about optimising so much!
