Regarding your moderators

I've emailed twice now regarding issues with two of them, PolyGame and Tshirtbooth.
These guys are deleting posts just because they disagree with the content, and I think that is wrong and shows immaturity on their part.
I do not know why they appear to be singling me out, perhaps they don't like me? I really don't care how they feel about me, but this is a professional forum for your customers, not a place for these guys to play favorites. All I expect is to be treated equally and not have my posts wiped out by someone who doesn't have enough maturity to allow someone to have a differing opinion. You go back and look at the last post by me that they deleted, and please show me what was so outrageous about it! Thanks.
Edit by BeyondtheTech: changed the title of your post, still effective yet a little less intimidating

haha j/k....
I don't know what exactly what was said, but I can assure you that there is no favoritism in the moderation of the board. For the most part we take a hands off approach (hence the reason you rarely see my posts/edits), however, we will try to keep the boards as clean as possible. Keep in mind that many different age groups use GS & the forums.

The news loves these stories because they are about freaking people out. Sensationalism sells. Unfortunately these same people then later go on to complain so much about things that perfectly reasonable and honest people, such as the man in the tight pants, wind up getting persecuted because of the new laws and policies put in place to protect the over zealous fear mongers. Before we know it tight pants become outlawed and then we aren't even allowed to look at pants.
Often times when we are on the internet we think everything is about us. We take things far to personally.
There is a medical term for people like you: Delusional
You may, gentle reader, for example, think I'm talking about you, while in fact, i'm not.
But, what I can tell you is that if you have any issues with any moderator(s), or any member(s), or anyone on the Gendai team, I would appreciate it if you discussed it privately first by sending a message via the Contact Us form on this page:
http://gamesalad.com/landing/contact
I am certain that it will be properly directed to the appropriate channels in an expeditious manner and handled with the utmost respect and professional courtesy. There's no need to drag this out in public for all to see.
That being said, I want to make a statement here that I hope will ease everyone's nerves a bit.
I have been a paid GameSalad member only since the beginning of this year, even though I followed it months before. Just recently, many of you have noticed slight changes, from forum upgrades, to members being promoted to various levels, and unfortunately for others, a rather Steve Jobs-esque terse or somewhat seldom yellow post from a member of the Gendai team.
The members promoted have been carefully handpicked by the Gendai team and we're all still getting accustomed to the changes, as well as you are. Because of agreements made with Gendai, many are not at liberty to discuss any details, but what I can tell you is that things are progressing, they are listening, and there is actually more communication going on, just not at all levels. And, I can tell you as a new mod, it hasn't been easy cleaning up after a lot of threads scattered all over the place. We're all human here, from all different parts of the globe, all different ages, all different experiences. We're bound to butt heads and disagree, but as mods, we're supposed to be trying to make the best judgments we can. It's all still new to a lot of us, so please give us some time to adjust.
It's public knowledge that Gendai Games has recently been given a rather generous cash infusion (http://venturebeat.com/2010/07/14/gendai-games-raises-1m-in-first-round-for-game-creation-tools/), so hopefully you can imagine that there would be positive changes coming around, and that they didn't just all get up and head for the sands of Fiji for a tropical getaway.
I, along with many others, have been pretty vocal myself in the past, even critical of GameSalad and Gendai Games. I've even discussed other engines here in comparison. And, others have gone even to the point of insulting and rude. But if you read every followed yellow post, they have always treated every response with professional courtesy and respect. I know that if some of that vitriol was pointed at me, I might have responded with a choice word or phrase that may negatively resonate here. So, I really have to tip my hat off to Yodapollo and the crew.
I guess you can say, it's always darkest before the dawn, so everyone, please relax, hang tight, and be just a little more patient. Growing pains are just that - painful, sometimes, but if you've ever stared at a finished game you made with GameSalad and/or saw the words "Ready for Sale" sitting happily next to your icon in iTunes Connect, you know that the time and effort - from asking questions in the forum, to placing your objects for the first time and watching them move, to sending your code to Gendai's servers for publishing - all of it was fun, exciting and worth it.
Let's not lose sight of why we're all here. We're gamers. We want to have fun. Want to make fun things. And, we want to be make money doing all of that! So, there's no reason why we can't all do that together.
See you on the other side, everyone. Trust me, it's going to be a fun ride.
Well said
Ditto.
So, that is why this post is here. The private method failed.
ORBZ - I hope you are not referring to me or anyone else as "Delusional". If you are, then this is yet another example of moderators being "selective" about who they moderate. Step back, away from the clique, and see the light.
Deep man real deep
You said "Step back, away from the clique, and see the light." I experience this as an insulting and highly offensive statement designed to enflame and enrage the reader.
I experience you as complaining and rude to myself and others. This is my experience of you.
May I suggest that you give something of value to the community? All I have seen from you is anger and frustration. You get what you give you know.
Members control content.
(and, that includes moderator members' editing content.)
Our moderators try for moderation in content...both in topic content and vocabulary.
Not an easy job...as every decision they make has to be weighed within the bounds of the objectives of the forum and the known subjective opinions of themselves and other forum members. In other words, they can not be arbitrary.
the only alternative to member moderators is pre-approval on posts...none of us want that delay or intrusion on our forum!
one could always keep a copies of posts and if deleted, ask for a reason that particular post got axed...via a message to a Sous-Chef. But, let it go...complaining over unimportant issues just takes up a lot of creative/productive time. Just the act of moving-on dissipates a lot of anger/frustration.
@TM I enjoy your posts...may not always like the content...but always admire the way you express yourself! Erudite and Eloquent!
