[Suggestion] Forum Needs Ignore/Block

Before getting into it, I just wanted to say that I love the GS community. It is overall a tight knit group providing help, advice, valuable insight and just a downright positive atmosphere.

We have people who take the time to create tutorials, both simple and almost overwhelming complex, people who allow others to send them their projects for a bit of help, people assisting others in finding free game resources, etc.

Hell, back when I had mono I had people giving me a lot of kind words and helpful advice; and I was still new to the forum back then.

However, like all forums, there's always going to be a few people you just don't want to deal with. Some people just don't get along, for whatever reason.

Many forums, however, have got a way to block/ignore these people - and that's what I would really like to see here.

Anyway, that's what I'd like to see if/when the forum gets any attention :)

Peach.

I have not yet met the person I would want to block here, ;-)
but it is standard forum functionality, so could be useful.

I always wonder, right after I block a person (usually for spam) WHAT IF they finally make the
one post I would actually want to read? ;-)

That sums it up for me however I dont take anything to personally. I belive in our community and the fact that everyone deserves their oppion and the freedom to express it. I have not met anyone who I would want to block.

@ peachpellen obviously you have had an experience with someone or someone's and if you feel that you want to block this persons communication to you I would seek advice from one of our resident Sous Chef as they might have some guidelines that you can follow.

    Take Care

FranzKeller - I get like that too, not wanting to block people in case they finally say something I'd want to read, heh.

AppChogie - Yes and no, there have been one or two people here I wouldn't mind blocking; as QS said a few weeks back many of us have a good idea who is leaving unfairly negative reviews on GS games - I'd block them for sure.
Mostly though I was just thinking out loud because I've got a fair few people blocked on another forum as there is a fair bit of spam there; there isn't here (yet) but as the forum grows it seems like it may become inevitable.

I haven't been seriously bothered by anyone here though :) It's nothing like that. I just figure it could be a valuable feature and if the forum is updated at some stage as has been discussed previously, it would be worth including it as a feature :)

many forums have a block feature that hides what they say, but still leaves a link that says 'comment blocked' with a show button.
