I am done with my first little app. And now this?
Just signed up with Apple yesterday payed my $99.
But now I can't upload my app using GS and as it states
in their announcement I will no longer need to be an
Apple Developer???
The new cost for signing up with GS is better below $99.
And when will it be ready?

If you have an OLD license you can use it until it will expire.

You just wasted $99 if you are planning to use GS. The new model will not allow you to publish apps built with GS anymore...unless you already owned a dev license...in which case...you are good to go until that expires...then you are enslaved to GS from there on...until they go bankrupt...and then your F'd.

I don't think jm has bought the gs license yet, so probably feels he has wasted $99 on an apple license.

gazjm you got it. Was about to sign up after I signed up yesterday with Apple.
What am I supposed to do?
    This sucks.
Great community here. Took me a while to figure all this out and would have been
impossible without all your help, the Book and YouTube videos?
Was about to start a more involved app today.
    NOW WHAT?

    @JoeM...

    Now what?...

Start learning code...unfortunately...or wait for GameMaker or Corona to issue in a GUI that is workable.

Otherwise...you now have another middleman wanting a handout.

I was about to sign up today. I am F%$#@'d.
We did all this for nothing.

if you have already created the app it is probably worth launching it under the new plan anyway. be best to try and recoup some costs! unless your going to redo it in corona or the like!

I hear ya. But why do they close shop before the new one is ready.
Does anyone know when they will be ready?

Can I zip my GS file/Folder and post it through my Apple Dev. account without GS's help?
  • gazjmgazjm Member Posts: 578
don't think so, the gs part creates the .app file for submitting to apple unfortunately.

Maybe somebody can figure out a good way of sharing.
I would sent my file to someone who still has an active account
and they can upload the App.
Have to figure out how to handle the finances.

If you work it out with someone you can actually add them as a developer on your apple account. They can sign it with your code and you can still publish yourself to apple.

This is completely legit. Apple allows up to 99 developers per account.

    Thanks Sous-Chef. Great.
Anybody wants to join me in my efforts ... let me know.

Here is an idea: I have the Apple Developer account so I can add
other people to my account and if they still have their GS account
then they could use my Apple dev account to download the file for me.
Or better yet, get the app done through GS and send it back to me (not sure if that would work).
