How to make character not to slide

I created a character that walks when pressing the right and left buttons, but when I don't press these buttons it slides on the surface for a bit before it fully stops. Any recommendations to fix this? It probably has to do with the physics? Thanks

    adjust friction

Check the restitution (friction) between the two objects (the character and the ground/surface).

In the "ground's" physical properties, set the friction higher. It's under 'restitution', i believe.

probably play with drag as well...each case tends to be unique and revolves heavily around scale and scene contents to get the right 'look and feel' for any particular situation.

Yeah, that's a great point Rob2. I had the same issue where it took some additional tweaking with drag to get it feel a bit more 'realistic' (as was needed in my case).
