So long folks...From Synthesis

I won't make this too long or try to sound like a funeral is starting but I wanted to say thanks to the community for letting me hang out for a while. With the recent decisions by GS to pursue the consumer rather than game developers, myself and the team I work with are moving on.
When I first discovered GS last Jan...I thought I had found the holy grail. I picked it up in a weekend and put it in my list of the top 5 softwares ever. And then I spent 3 months working on a game to have it only arrive parked on a shelf gathering cobwebs.
I tried and tried again, working patiently with GS and its quirks to hopefully release a respectable title that had what I felt...the potential to be noticed within the complex and competitive app store. I was nearly there with EWO...then GS shuffled my hand.
Now I'm sitting here with not even a low pair. GS now holds all the cards. I don't like having my hand forced and with 10 years of self-employment behind me...I refuse to allow anyone ever again control my identity.
The fees are one thing. My company doesn't have a problem paying 1000s of dollars for software...if its good. 3DStudio, Photoshop, Flash, Autocad...they are all stellar software. GS is a little kid still and has a long way to go to reach puberty.
I enjoyed playing around with it...but its obvious the fit is not there for me or it seems many other devs. Perhaps their new model will attract all those youngsters to the sausage making party...but will it be profitable? Only time will tell.
I may pop in once in a while and may still use GS for a testing ground of ideas...but we will never publish...EVER through someone other than ourselves.
Apple gets 30% because they bring 90Million people to my doorstep with lots of cash to spend. What exactly does GS do for me? Not much before...and not really anything now.
We (my team and I) are moving on to other pastures. GS was a great hope for us as the speed of development was there...it just needed to get its GE performance a bit better. Too bad we missed the chance.
So as someone mentioned...the proverbial Titanic has hit the iceberg...so we are choosing to head for the lifeboats.
See you all around the sister forum boards...you know which ones. Good luck to all of you and I wish you the best. Hope I didn't piss off too many people during my stay...and hopefully someone got something valuable out of my rhetoric or one of my SYN-TIPS.
Cheers to all!

Actually, I should say "welcome". See you over in the Corona forums. The GameSalad police just deleted my post explaining my own departure; it took them all of 5 minutes, ha ha. I think that says more than enough. They can delete my account if they wish; that's fine with me.
@TShirtBooth
I totally respect you and what you've done with GameSalad, but your response to my last (deleted) post reminds me of Nero. I think you're playing the fiddle while Rome burns. Maybe we'll meet again someday under the banner of freedom and proprietary rights.

Good luck though!

See ya around!!!
You always make me laugh!
Your not moving out of the house or something :P
Tonights the last night on this board...some folks are going 1 way...others another way!
I think I feel a tear welling up!!!
Sniff! Sniff!.....BURP!
Good Night GS!
you gave me some good tips even though i had just arrived and have noob written all over my questions.
I agree, making it stand alone software like Flash or whatever sounds way more appealing to me. But i will see what they actually decide (as i have about 10 months paid membership left)
Cheers!
Take Care

a combination of two or more entities that together form something new
you will find the other entity and like GS you will make something new.
Software and computers are all about change, and you are do just that.
Rock on
At any rate, I know you will succeed, and wish you all the BEST!
I'll be seeing you around the other forums
All the best, synthesis!
