GS Splash Screen

Hello,
I heard few voices that "Maked with GS" screen in games is negatively perceived by players. Is it really true? Could it be a real reason of poor sales, or this won't affect sales?

Thank you.

Wow, really? I didn't know that, I was sure that if Joe has pro membership then he removes GS screen for sure.

People see the splash screen AFTER buying it. Being listed on a gamesalad itunes page would be a different story...

    (sorry, couldn't resist)

This is like asking do you carry your lunch or ride the bus to school?
As of yet, GS is not a publisher, it seems that maybe they will become one. If the software that we use to make games is better, then we will make better games. Not all games will sell, and some will make better games than others. So the logo might be a real asset, like getting the good housekeeping seal of approval, the problem is that due to the easy use of GS for most, and the low entry cost of the process in terms of cost, almost anyone can make and publish a game. It seems to me that GS might only put its logo on games that meet certain quality issues, that is more work for them as a company but by elevating the LOGO to something you WANT associated to your app is a good goal for GS.

I think that the biggest issue for GS is load times, we have had a few thousand downloads of our latest game, and the code is much tighter than previous efforts, but still there are some complaints about load time.

Should those aspects of GS continue to nag the player then it wont make any difference if there is a logo or not from GS. People will simply say, This game takes to long to load.

I think that GS must have an aggressive program in the offing, they know from this forum what the problems are, the software is beta and no doubt they have taken all the complaints to heart and mind and realize that in order to move forward they have to do the best thing for the player and the developer. How many members would like to have Chillingo on their game as the opening logo.

Lets keep making games and see where this adventure takes us.

    Cheers

I was just thinking the same thing. I wouldn't mind it on there, as they would've already paid anyway, so it wouldn't deter customers. And if it is a good game, then your reviews should be reflective of that as well.
