Need a professional opinion on an app

Hi everyone, I'm new to gamesalad and I hope someone can answer some of my questions.
So basically, me and a friend are collaborating on an iPhone app based off the board game Stratego. It would have at least 2 parts, a World War 2 map with Britain and Germany and a modern map with America and Russia (subject to change). It would also include a 2 player hotseat mode and 1 player vs AI. We've got icons for the units that are pretty decent in my humble opinion and sound files won't be a problem either. Our worry is mainly of the AI of the enemy, which should be possible but my experience in that is somewhat lacking. I was thinking along the lines of randomizing the chance of it moving pieces towards you or away, with some kind of logic built in. Another thing I can't seem to get right is actors snapping to the in-game grid when they're dragged around.
Any amount of help is really appreciated, so thanks in advance!

Thanks for that, it looks like it's exactly what I need. This might seem a bit stupid, but how do I download the gamesalad project file? Clicking on Download only gives a full screen view of the app in Safari.

Right click on the download button and save as. It will download a weird file. Rename it to anything you like and replace the file extension with .zip. Extract the zip and you can open in GS :)

This really does need to be sorted ;-)

That makes sense, thank you so much! So is there anyone out there with the know how to do a sorta simple AI? If I can sort that out I'd be very happy.

Also, does anybody have anything to say about these? They're some of the icons we're going to use.

Theres no AI or waypoint in gamesalad. What you can do is set up timers every certain about of time with move rules in different dirrections so every so often it switches movements. But that would only work for like a enemy walking around or something.

I know what your saying, but for a turn based game that wouldn't work. Isn't there a way for the enemy to know if you're moving your pieces closer to it, and act accordingly?

You can open from within the game salad editor in the shared section.

Just type the name or part of the name in the search field.

Way easier than renaming zipping etc.
