So I downloaded angry birds and all I can say is what's the big deal. I was expecting this awesome million dollar game. Sure it's basic physics gameplay and graphics are good but to me this is truly the lottery of the app market.

    Perhaps publishers are important.

Angry birds didn't hold my attention either, even though it's a very well polished game :)
But I must say that "Cut the Rope" is my favorite and worthy of the #1 spot :)

So i get to level 3 and think the fantastic comes out in level 4 but then let down. Guess I'll check out cut the rope then butterbean.
Maybe GS as a publisher wouldn't be so bad, hold on a sec I need to slap myself for that one.

@Chaser: lol on slapping yourself :)

Yes, Cut the Rope is a REALLY great game IMO :)

Been looking at Trainyard myself -- does seem pretty cool (nicely designed).

    Angry birds.

I have 3 stars on everything.
One of the best games ever and I don't consider myself a casual gamer.

The problem is it's to easy to base a game off of the intial sizzle these days.
I don't think you can judge a game until you've put in 3 or 4 hours.

Try to get 3 stars on a level before moving on and finish a world.
You will then realize the pure genius of this masterpiece.

There is a very learned skill in angry birds that so many games that are just thrown together lack.

It's no tetris attack for SNES but then again nothing will ever be

Guess the hype on some of these games just kills it for some. Maybe we're better off not paying attention to it prior to purchase.

Or play a game that has serious hype for a few hours to see if it really lives up to it rather than be let down at level 4. Level 4, serious? You can judge a game in 5 min?

I'll give it more time but let's face it most reviewers barely give an app five minutes

That's why you should ignore reviews.

I do ignore most reviews. And I'd say the only reason I care to have people put up reviews on iTunes or sites is for exposure.
Like they say good press bad press it keeps you visible

On a side note I had an app that had no reviews and sold great!
