QS is correct about how to make an in-scene pause button. he is also correct that it can be a bit difficult to keep up manually with pausing all the actors/timers that might need to be paused in your game scene before returning to it. I have spent a good bit of time in this past week making a now functional..... YAY!!!! .... in-scene pause system for my soon to be released game project....
