I've just spent hours trying to edit a music clip to loop seamlessly, before I realised it was probably GS adding the pause rather than an error in the music clip itself.

The pause is small, but noticeable to me.

Has anyone got a solution for this? I'll carry on searching the boards.

For music, don't use ogg. Import the file and when it asks "Import as music" do that, and it will loop properly. I think for sound that isn't imported as music and you loop it, it will have a slight pause.

That's what I did (import as music) and GS has converted it to an m4a file.

I don't know that it is GS causing the pause or whether my music file has a 'stutter'. When I play and loop it in Garageband it's perfect, which is why I wondered if it was the game software.

I only mentioned it because it looks like someone else has had the same issue.

My stuff seems to loop perfectly fine when importing as music, could be your source file. Could just be a difference in performance as well. From what I understand, looping the track can cause performance hiccups. Most of the time the performance impact of a loop isn't noticeable, but perhaps it's compounded when there are other performance factors involved.

I've worked with game engine technology for several years now, and we always seem to run into issues with looping audio/video. More so with the video, usually it's fixed by optimizing other aspects to free up performance head room for spike cpu calls, like a loop. Typically we end up capping framerates at 60fps, come to think of it... is there an FPS cap on GS?

I make exclusively music apps and so far, I was not able to make a perfect loop!
It would be cool if GS would address that unless it is not possible?

Also, if it helps, I only use "sounds" and not audio.

Using sounds is much more flexible - I have multiple layers of loops that are the same tempo and only trigger on the beat (at different times depending on what's going on in the game).

They loop seamlessly - so as long as you have cut them well in your audio software they should be fine.

The only issue I have is that either GS (or my game 'code') or apple devices are not 100% reliable. So every now and then a loop will trigger and it won't be dead on the beat but will be slightly off.

I agree GS should address this issue I have made some great loops with garage band and they don't loop in GS if anyone has a way around this please let us know.
