So ive been getting along quite smoothly lately thanks to all the help and feedback here, i think i might actually be understanding it all a bit better after 3 months.
So heres what im stumbling up on now as i made a bit more progress..
my game was running with a total memory/ram usage according to the GS viewer of around 26mb per level.. no sound yet..
at this moment i have 4 levels 26mb, title screen 12mb, world select 14mb, level select 17mb.. and a options page..12mb
i now added a animation as a reward for clearing the level and the level memory jumps up to 38-41 mb.. ive read that this is a game crasher for none iphone 4's? (im testing on iphone 4 only at the moment)
my question is.. are my images to big as is.. (most are 5kb some more complex stuff is 12-18kb) and is animation really such a ram killer, then what about all the 3D games on iphones.. is this a GS only issue and would this be dealt with in the new GS update?
it seems if i just do a empty scene with a button its already at 12 mb just on the game engine.. seems a bit much some how...
any feedback would be greatly appreciated,
thanks
