GameSalad is an amazingly powerful game creation tool and we want to make sure that the GameSalad community has a great educational resource to rely on. Thanks Bram, I am glad you liked the site! Actually we couldn't say where our ideas come from. The instructors here at AppTrainer.com have been creating videos tutorials on the world's most advanced software for years now. We have won awards for our training titles on Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop and a whole host of other titles. Once we started using GameSalad, it was a no brainer on weather or not we would create tutorials on such an amazing software.
I myself am very excited about having a talented team of people who have spent years working in the film and game industries now focusing their talents on GameSalad education.
Please let me know if there is any GamaSalad training you would like to see from us!
Thanks Beefy. You can already find hours of produced content on the site. And there will be much more added each week.

Hi tshirtbooth, let's not get competitive now! It can be a bit tacky! ; )
You are a fantastic GameSalad user and here at AppTrainer.com we are big fans of the great work you are doing. I know that GS users will benefit for your help for years to come. If anyone is new to GS they should check out tshirtbooth!
However AppTrainer.com has a monthly fee of $19.95 for total accesses to every video on the site because of the level of artists that we have here. As I mentioned earlier our team is made up experienced professionals who are veterans in the film and game industry. I am very excited to have team members who worked on movies like King Kong, and AVATAR working on GameSalad tutorials!
And let's not forget that AppTrainer.com although dedicated to producing great GameSalad training, will also be producing hundreds of videos on 3D modeling, graphics design, game marketing, and a whole host of other tools that can help users become better game makers. In fact there is already hours upon hours of 3D tutorial live on the site.
I'm glad that sites devoted to GameSalad are beginning to pop up, should be great for the future of GameSalad.
Must admit, I'm a little disappointed at the price, at $20 a month i definitely can't afford that. Then again I'm a student and a cheap one at that so I'm sure there are many who will!
Good luck!
Love the layout and design
When the new GS comes out; I'll think about signing up.
The site looks very professional! Best of luck with it :]
Yes you are right, apptrainer.com does have lots of other training other then GameSalad videos. And that is because even though GameSalad is as we like to put it "A miracle software" we don't want to show people how to just use GameSalad to make apps, we want to teach people how to use GameSalad to make GREAT apps1
Ha Ha, yes well said BarkBarkCo. : ) We are big fans of GameSalad, tshirtbooth, and the entire GameSalad community. That is why we are dedicating a whole site to GameSalad training videos. To put it simply we love GameSalad and want to see the software and the community grow!
Hey ToastKitten let me answer your question regarding the training series we will be launching called 3D in GameSalad.
Nope there won't be some kind of 3D update or plugin to GameSalad. Not that we know of, although that would be cool wouldn't it! : )
What we will be teaching you in this tutorial is how to set up a side scroller in GameSalad that has true 3D perspective. You see if you were to move a camera side to side across a terrain, you would see objects closer to that camera move faster then the ones off in the distance.
The first part of this tutorial will show you how you can use Maya Paint Effects to quickly brush in realistic look trees, grass, rocks, and all kinds of structures. How cool is it to just paint in a whole 3D world with out having to model all of it piece by piece!
The second part of this tutorial will show you how to set up a 3D camera that will render exactly what you need to use in GameSalad.
And the final part of the training will show you how to set everything up in GameSalad, so your players can move back and forth across your 3D terrain which will have true 3D perspective or also know as parallax.
Looking forward to it. Seems like it'll show some interesting concepts!
ToastKitten, GameSalad is a ridiculously powerful tool! We are having fun merging software like Maya, ZBrush, Final Cut Pro, and Photoshop with it! We are really looking forward to pushing games we make with GameSalad as far as we can, while showing you guys how we are doing it.
I know GS is powerful, it just seems a little bit on the slow side for performance for some things
And for saying Final Cut Pro
Regarding Maya being 3K. That's not entirely accurate. You can purchase a student version of Maya for as low as $299. And another important thing to point out is that the techniques I am teaching you in the "3D in GameSalad" tutorial can be applied to any other 3D software. You see I am not teaching you anything that is exclusive to Maya. You could use "Blender" a powerful 3D application that is totally free to do what I show you in the tutorial. But if you still want to learn Maya you can always download their learning edition which is also free.
At AppTrainer.com we look forward to answering questions like these. We want to share our years of industry experience with all GS users.

ReM, yes we want to make sure our members have every resource they need to create great games. So we encourage then to let us know what they need training on.
You talked about Blender, it would be nice if you could ad some Blender tutorials as well.

No plan to other 3D tools? for example... MAX???
CaptainChoco, actually were do have plans to cover other 3D packages like 3DSMax. As our list of tutorials grow, you will see quite a bit of different 3D and 2D software being used.
