This is a pretty good tool as well for quick little sound effects.. pretty customizable as well.
You have 8 different selections to make sounds of like -
Pickup/Coin , Laser/Shoot, Explosion, PowerUp, Hit/Hurt, Jump, Blip/Select, and Random.

Just bought Photics sound effects for $10. Waiting for email...we will see! Bought the book, and that was great, so hoping the other media is up to the same quality!

I've made some of my own by recording stuff in my house in Garage Band. If it's an easy sound effect, you might be able to make it yourself using your house as a foley studio.
