Who would you rather play as?

Hero: an elf on a quest to dystory the evil that has taken over his village.

Thief: A ninja like thief sent on assignments to steal artifacts from highly guarded forts.

Assassin: An assassin that must kill his target without being detected.

I'm trying to decide witch plot line I should use in my upcoming Rpg. Each would have a medieval/fantasy feel to it with randomly generated dungeons for quality replay value.

Any input would be appreciated,

Thanks!

I voted theif, but you could combine all plot elements if you tried hard enough. A theif trying to assassinate the town's evil guardians. lol

I voted 'Assassin', but you could, with a little work, let the player choose and change the beginning stats accordingly!

    QS :D

Playing as a Thief would be fun, and you could collect special items, and such to increase stats, but either way you can't go wrong with any of them!

qs just gave me an idea - make something original!
The main hero is a sheep who is send by people from it's village with a message to town.
The tutorial is simple - run, eat, fight etc.
Later the sheep meets the witch who turned it into a mighty warrior, but the sheep realizes that beeing a sheep is better then beeing a human, and it's searching a way to be a sheep again.

The "human" version could look like a copy of Rob Schneider!

Just imagine the commercial: "Rob Schwarzweider was an animal, then he was a girl, and now Rob Schwarzweider is a sheep turned into human! Rated PG-13" :P

Agreed. You could also have certain objects that you can interact with depending on your class.

On the class select screen, you could make it so that:

if Hero is chosen, let class = 1
If Thief is chosen, let class = 2
If Assassin is chosen, let class = 3

Then, in game, have some objects that only that class could interact with.

    For example, a chest:

If class = 1, player has a key, and chest is touched
    Give Gold

If class = 2, and chest is touched
    Give Gold

If class = 3, and chest is touched
    Do nothing

Assassin would be fun because you could kill people and you have stealth. Thief would be fun since you have stealth and you have to be able to steal as well, undetected. Usually with being an assassin, you kill and then you have to run like hell. A thief needs to be able to steal without either being noticed or that no one knows something is missing until the thief is long gone.

Yeah! Make something original. That can really help on the App Store (and in life? ;-)

(I'm not a great "coder", but at least I have that. ha ha)

People really do like apps that make them THINK.
start from somewhere known, but take it to somewhere unexpected.

if you can do that, you are that much closer to having A HIT!

    good luck to us all!

see Terry Gilliam's "Jabberwocky" - (made shortly after "Holy Grail", but mostly unknown.)
about a hero who doesn't really WANT to marry the princess!
(He pines for his ugly childhood sweetheart, who never loved him anyway.)
    Ironic, isn't it?

This is "deconstruction", "post-modernist" and "meta-fiction".

I voted hero (who doesn't love Link?) but after reading QS post that is a brilliant idea.
