Hey,
I've heard that there is a way to make a game in pseudo 3D with GS, could you please tell me if this is true, and tell me where I can find any tutorials or informations about it? Or maybe demos.

Thanks a lot!

Hi TheMoonwalls, it seems a new thing of late that an old aspect of gaming, parallax scrolling, has been renamed pseudo 3D, don't know why... Anyhow, they are one and the same.

There's a couple or three templates floating about in the Games section; + a vid tutorial is planned by AppTrainer concerning parallax scrolling (or as they call it as well, pseudo 3D). Hope that helps!

    PS AppTrainer is here: http://www.apptrainer.com/index.html

You're welcome! Although reading the blurb again on the AppTrainer site, it does sound like it's something else other than parallax; we wait to be impressed (hopefully) if it's a different system!

There's also codemonkey's zombie demo - which effectively just has scaling actors come towards you as if they're moving in from a distance.

I wrote about this in The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook. The tomatoes in Annoyed Tomatoes come at you in a somewhat 3D manner.

Also... particles are a good way to achieve 3D effects. I was able to create some nice 3D effects with stars. You can see the video for Arcade Action for an example of this in action. I had about 100 stars on the screen, but it didn't hurt performance.
