Collision Help

Hi, I'm very new to GameSalad and I am having some trouble with collision detection. Apparently The collision detection doesn't work like I thought it would so let me just tell you what I'm trying to do.

I'm trying to get this ball to collide with the inside of this shape vs. colliding with the outside of the image. Currently it just bounces off of the edge rather than go through and react to the edges of the image. Any solutions? Thanks guys!
