Expect Some Server Down Time

Hey, everybody!

Just wanted to let you all know in advance that we'll be bringing down the server for a little while in the next 36 hours.

If you encounter some problems publishing, that's probably the reason. No reason to worry, we'll have it back up as fast as we can and I think you'll be very happy when you see what we're doing.

Again, the server will be coming down sometime in the next 36 hours. Thanks for your patience and we'll try to keep the downtime as short as possible.

    I hope that the hype behind GS 0.9 isn't the same kind of anticlimax of Apple's Beatles back catalog announcement they made today, that was LAME.

    I agree. That "sneak-peak" was the worst. Everyone who knows the Beatles knows that that quote is from the Beatles. I was expecting something BIG, such as iOS 4.2, or new software, etc.

    GS, Learn from Apple's mistakes, and do not repeat history :)

    Science Dammit!!! Oh well. As long as GS runs faster I can still make do without proper arrays. Just I hate that the engine would have to loop through hundreds and hundreds of tags (on one of my projects).

    I'd just forget about GameSalad for this week and concentrate on your exams.

    Lets face it, Yoda has a habit of hyping things up and getting excited over things that turn out to be a bit of a disappointment to the rest of us....

    Maybe hes right this time (heres hoping)... but I wouldnt put your exam at risk by getting too excited.

    I would be surprised if they did not formally announce the cost and feature set of .9.0 late this afternoon. They have a booth at the GAME ON AUSTIN (Austin is their and my hometown) event that starts at 6:00 tonight that will be covered and sponsored by the Austin Chronicle and likely several other news outlets plus be attended by independent developers. It would be a waste of that marketing opportunity if they did at least make the above announcement. They could do so and then in the next 36 hours actually do the update (hence the need for the servers to be down).

    Yeah, I was expecting iOS 4.2, or some crazy breakthrough software upgrade to the interface.
