Hi guys,
What's up with the new publishing settings?
I see there a lot of stuff (keyworkds, screenshoot, and more) that I need to add in itunes connect so why are also there?
I just don't get it!?

How can I get the old, simpler, publishing system?

Thank you,
Adrian

It is for the Direct publishing I think.
    But it is confusing.

They said, Direct will be available too beside express and pro, but it seems, there is no option to choose. Even if they don't automatically use Direct, it is extra work you have to do for nothing.

You also have to sign an agreement, which seems to be an agreement for direct.

I didn_'t read it through, but I won't sign it for sure, until I have no option to choose between self publising and direct publishing, or until they rework the tool.

Yes the agreement is very strange and the entire publishing system looks more like a submission system to the app store using Direct (GameSalad publishes the game for you)
It sux because we are in a hurry to resubmit after our app was rejected: http://gamesalad.com/forums/topic.php?id=13096

Anyone tried the new publishing system?

    It's crap.
    It is misleading.
    It is unnecessary.
    It is not legal probably.
    It doesn't work.

I just tried to publish a test app but it says that the servers are having problems... I just don't understand why are all those options there? And you can't skip them, that's the sad part.

Please, PLEASE, bring back the old, SIMPLE AND FAST, publishing system

    Thank you,
    Adrian

or at least actually tell us how to use it properly :o)

Well, you need to add exactly the same info as in itunes connect so I don't know how it's easier.
On top of that, you can't even add your custom screenshots (you can choose only pic from the game) so there's no way to add a screen-shot that you retouch in photoshop - very common.

This just doesn't make sense, why change something simple into something more complicated ?!??
Please fix it soon, we need to submit to apple ASAP

You can just drag and drop whatever screenshots you want in the slots.

    From the finder?
    Didn't worked for me.
Even so, why do I need to enter all the info twice, in the new publising menu and them in iTunes connect?

Ive just published a test app, uploading to my iphone now. I think the details are for displaying on the gamesalad website, you still get the file to upload to itunes connect after building.

Dragging in screenshots won't work unless they are the same resolution as the app you're uploading.

A few quick questions about the new publishing interface:

How can I delete a game from my portfolio? I usually upload many tests and I would like to be able to keep it clean.

Why I can upload only 512x512 icon for the app instead of the 114 that's required by itunes connect?
AFAIK 512 is only going to show in iTunes and not on the iphone. I have slightly different icons for each app, one 114 (for the app on the device) and one at 512 for the app on iTunes. The difference between the two is small but makes a big difference and we all know how important an icon is.
I know that in the end, when you submit the game to Apple you will be able to upload you custom made 114 icon but before it was easy to test the icon on the device when you published with GS.

    Thank you.

confused about the icon here too.

When doing an ad-hoc or dev build, does it just scale down the 512 we submit in the publishing wizard to 114 or 72? (how good is the scaling?)

Can't seem to publish at the mo to check myself, as I'm getting a server error (as they are tinkering about I guess)

Yes, it scales the icon down. Of course some things are made to be better seen in 512, for example in Silly Sheep I have the sheep bigger in the 114 version than in the 512.
I don't think it's a real issues as you still need to upload the 114 version to apple at the submission process but now it's harder to test.
Before, when I published AdHoc I could also test the icon... this is no longer valid and probably I will end up using an iPhone mocap to test how the icon looks. Too bad.

yeah its allot of hassle for a adhoc test build... i just want to drop it on my phone and test it.. having to fill all this stuff in and making icons and crap is a real pain
