How does GS plan to make money?

I'm all for free, but it worries me that if they are offering GS Basic for free and Pro doesn't seem to offer much more how do they plan on keeping the lights on at GS HQ?

    I was thinking exactly the same thing. How they can afford this I really don't know; it's worrying for the future of GS.

    They don't know.
    They are absolutely clueless, don't you see?

    They try to alienate all their still loyal customers and when it's done, they will try to sell GS... I think, this is the plan they figured out :-P

    Ya right now its a little one sided. But im sure ALL new features will be pro only. Gamecenter, arrays stuff like that.

    For the free version theres ads before the game starts I've heard. So thats how they make money on the free:)

    Yes i think that is what was said. But i dont think it shows adds for normal games, only the ones that GS pics, so you will not have low quality games advertised.

    Erm... so they want to rip off their best customers again... nice!
    Because if they advertise games made with gamesalad, they either don't make money or they want to be paid for that advertisement.

    Do you not want them to stay in business? no one liked direct and now you dont want them to make money this way. Im not saying this is the best way but it is WAY better then Direct.

    Hi TSB, thanks for taking the time to calm people, I hope that GS is gonna send you some cake or smth :)
    Anyway, a few questions:

    They are going to add ads in our game even if we still have the old express account?
    Are they going to add ads in the new express account?
    Are they going to add ads in the new PRO account?

    How come there's no info about ads being added on the main page?

    I do want them to stay in business and I think that's ok for them to add ads in the free and in the new express version but definitely not in the pro one.

    I actually like the new version and the changes.
    The only thing i dislike is the lack of information from the GameSalad team the dont really tell us whats going on.

    But anyways i think they are doing a great job.

    Are there advertisements in the professional version? If so, that would pretty much ruin the professionalism of the app.
