Call me silly, but surely the best way forward for GameSalad as a business would be to have
$99 Express (no one had a prob with this as it was)
$499 for Pro (Seems everyone would love that...without the splash of course!)
AND
Keep GS Direct for the people who don't want to be a self publisher/bother with an apple account (I'm sure this would bring in a whole heap of new customers)
Seems all to obvious. But I am sure there are/were forces at work that means that model can't work.
........again, seems like an obvious model to me.
?
It feels like after the negative GS direct tirade from the community, they have gone too far in the opposite direction.
If they were not making enough money with the 99/2000 pricing model, how can they continue with a free/500 pricing model??????

Perhaps they should bring back the $1999 option to remove the splash screen. They could call it GameSalad Elite or something like that.
This move certainly hurts their competitors. I was considering Unity or Corona, but with the new setup I think GameSalad is on-target. I have to test things out though. I'm not sure how everything works yet.
$500 for all express features + iads + URL forwarding + custom splash!
No GS direct at all
Simple as that
GS has to understand that some people are trying to make a business from their software, and they can't keep playing around with us like this, keep changing things and making everything more complicated.
why not just leave it free!!!(Less Money To PAY!)

My concern is for the people that spent $1999 on the original Pro. They shouldn't get ripped off. They should be upgraded to "Elite" or something like that.
