Finally I got to see my first App on my iPhone 3GS thanks to the new GS Viewer.
My full size background images are 320x480, Resolution is set to independent.
Images looked good on my MacMini BUT look low res on the iPhone?
Any ideas?

Thank you.

yeah. If you are using res independence, your images need to be x2. so your background should be made at 960x640, and the software scales it to 640x320 for the non-retina displays.

if you ahve made it at 320x480, just turn off res independence, and it will look correct on your 3gs.

And they'll look great on iPhone 4 if your images are correctly sized. I have both phones and quite the difference.

Yes, I do understand all that, BUT my problem was that the overall size for my first simple app became to big due to the 3 full size images I needed to use (over 10MB) and thats why I decided to go with the lower res images.
By the way, turning off res. independent did the trick.

3 960x480 png files shouldn't be a problem. Have you tried one of those png optimization programs?

    I use ImageOptim
